Way Past Due

Blogging hasn't been my top priority lately. :( I hope to get better though!!

Carrie has been taking up ALL of my time! and I love every second of it!
She has been truly a blessing to our family! The McCumseys just love her and the Days can't get enough! She is growing so quickly! I am enjoying every moment at home with her!! She is fun the play with and sweet to cuddle. :) We are some proud parents!

Since she was a breech baby (soon to be on the BEACH by the way!) she has had some issues with her hips, it is called hip dysplasia. She has been in a harness for about 3 weeks now and we hope only 3 more weeks to go!!

I wanted to share some photos of the past few months! ... here ya go.... our sweet bundle of FUN!

Carrie Addis has ARRIVED!!

Carrie Addis McCumsey arrived February 26, 2011 at 10:30 a.m.  (much to our surprise!)
8lbs. 14 oz. 20 1/2 in long! and a head full of brown hair!

Brian and I arrived at the hospital at 8:50 that Saturday morning, not sure what was happening, just knowing that I was in lots of pain!! and a mere hour and a half later we had a beautiful baby girl! (via c-section)

Now it is a little over two weeks later and we are home adjusting to our new lives... PARENTHOOD!
The first week at home was wonderful! Brian is SUPER Dad!! He changed every diaper! Woke up every time she did! He was such an amazing help, I would have been a lost cause without him!
This second week, Brian had to go back to work! :( I was truly enjoying him being home and helping me! Now we are all adjusting well! I am moving around lots better! (not nearly as sore as I was!)

Our little family is so blessed to have Carrie! She is wonderful, beautiful, amazing, and so many other words! I literally can not describe the joy and love I feel every time I look at her! and I can't quit looking at her! :) Thank God for Little Girls!

Here are some photos of our new bundle of joy... compliments of Heather Ray Photography....

Breech baby.... Beach Baby... We are just happy she is HEALTHY!

Well we have NEWS! Finally something exciting!!

The doctor thinks the baby is breech ... and although that isn't the best news, it is still NEWS for us! He has scheduled an ultrasound for next Wednesday so we can get a peek at her and see exactly where she is.  He also scheduled a c-section for March 1st.  Doc says that she still has time to turn, that we will just have to wait and see!

Baby Carrie will be here soon! We are so excited and anxious! :)

Love to all,
Sydney and Brian

Life is Good...

Today I have 6 weeks and 5 days left til due date! (not that we are counting down or anything!) Ha!

Life is good with this new McCumsey household! We had a wonderful Christmas spent with friends and family. New Years was spent well also! I enjoyed watching The McCumsey girls play with fireworks and friends! Now that all the holiday events have ended I have focused on making our home more homey! As most of you know we have listed it with our friend and realtor, Nikki Calmes! Now that I have made some "Sydney-like" changes I actually enjoy the house! The baby room is looking colorful and fun! I am loving it! Our bedroom is now a nice retreat, rather than cluttered! and we actually SIT in the LIVINGroom!! :) (oh and you can see the laundry room floor!) With the hecticness of combining two peoples' belongings, and adding a baby to the mx, I was a little overwhelmed with organizing and cleaning! With the help of my mother and Brian the house is now our home! :) I am so thankful for it too! My nesting stage has kicked in and I am organizing everything, cleaning, redecorating, and painting!

The Colorful Nursey Room for Carrie Addis!

Basically there are no complaints in this McCumsey Household, except for a minor cold! Say a little prayer that this cold of mine goes away fast so I can get back to NESTING!

Life is Good.
Love is Amazing.

Carrie Addis is BEAUTIFUL!!

We had an amazing weekend! I graduated! It was a very fulfilling experience... An accomplishment that I will always cherish. I am so thankful my parents and grandmother, NeeNee, aka Shirley Sue, came to see me walk across the stage! And poor old Brian stayed the entire time! :)

My graduation present from Brian was one I will never forget! We did a 3D ultrasound! Roll call for the ultrasound: My Mother, Phyllis, My dad, Drew, My in-laws, Mr.Mike and Mrs.Pat, and my grandmother, Shirley.
We ultrasound was an amazing experience. Carrie was not very cooperative at first, she was hiding from us, being 'camera' shy, something neither one of her parents are!!! We got to see some amazing movement. She sucks her thumb, keeps her hands in her face, and feet are just a kickin'! Thankfully she has all ten fingers and toes! She has stolen all of our hearts already! It was truly a blessing seeing her all cozy in my belly! Here are some of the photo's we received from the ultrasound:
Little Feet- She was crossing her legs!

Sleepy Baby Carrie

Giving us the PEACE sign! My Favorite!

She Sucks Her Thumb!!

All Cozy!

Uh-Oh A Grumpy Face- She was getting cranky towards the end of the session, so amazing to actually see!

Picking her nose!?

We are so blessed to see our little girl! Hope you enjoy the pictures...

Have A Holly Jolly Chirstmas....

From the McCumsey's (Brian and Sydney)

First and foremost, I have neglected blogging and I do not like that at all. Apologies to all that love blogging; I hope to get better at it, one of my New Years Resolutions actually.
These past couple of weeks have been a whirlwind…
There was Thanksgiving….
Andrew Feeling Carrie Kick!
We celebrated Thanksgiving with my Day Family and my new McCumsey Family. It was a blessing and a great way to start the Holiday Celebrations.  By the way, my nephew, Andrew, still does not want a girl cousin! Ha!

The wedding was everything I had ever dreamed of and more. It was simple, sweet, and perfect for us. I enjoyed the wedding ceremony, the friends and family present, and the at home comfortable feel of the ceremony.  The reception was a night I will never forget! It was exactly what we wanted! We wanted our closest friends and family to join in on the celebration and fun! We danced the night away, I was so VERY sore that night and next day! I am so thankful that my friends and family enjoyed it as much as we did!
Growing up most girls dream of their big day… our big day, without a doubt, exceeded my dreams.  I can happily say that I have married the best man for me.  After the ceremony we snuck away and I will cherish that time forever, the smile on his face, and happiness in both our eyes is something I will never forget and luckily Heather Ray captured that moment and I can not wait to have that memory in a photograph. Heather was an awesome photographer to work with and I can not wait to share my pictures with everyone! ☺
Here is some sneak peaks from the wedding and reception:

Mr. and Mrs. Brian McCumsey

So Happy to have my AXO and LaTech Friends!

My Beautiful Mother!

After our amazing wedding, Gatlinburg, TN was our destination for our Honeymoon!

King of the Moutain Top- Rocky Mountain Top is what he SANG the ENTIRE TRIP!!

It was the perfect getaway, we relaxed and enjoyed our time together. There is so much to do up there! Next time will include family and friends. Wednesday, our initial day to come home, we woke up with it SNOWING! Not a lot but a little bit… enough me to hurry up and get off that mountain! Ha! Instead of going home Wednesday we went to Atlanta, GA instead… played in IKEA, which is AMAZING, and went to an NBA game. Nachos! ☺  All in all, I enjoyed the mountains and the honeymoon but I learned that I will always be a beach girl!!(We are already planning family vacation to Destin with our little girl!)

Returning home from the honeymoon, my life was sucked back into schoolwork, which was stressful! Thankfully it is OVER! I graduate tomorrow, yes TOMORROW Friday, December 17, 2010, SYDNEY RUE MCCUMSEY will have a Master’s Degree in Hospitality, Restaurant, and Tourism Management from the University of New Orleans.  I am so very proud of myself.  Getting my Masters flew by, but there were times, especially in the last few months when I wanted to put school on hold. I am so thankful for having such a wonderful support group, my momma, my dad, and Brian really pushed me! Brian was a trooper and revised TONS of papers! Now he is pushing me to find a J-O-B, the dreaded three letter word, and of course I knew the day would come that I would have to work, I just didn’t know I would 7 months pregnant!
