Carrie Addis is BEAUTIFUL!!

We had an amazing weekend! I graduated! It was a very fulfilling experience... An accomplishment that I will always cherish. I am so thankful my parents and grandmother, NeeNee, aka Shirley Sue, came to see me walk across the stage! And poor old Brian stayed the entire time! :)

My graduation present from Brian was one I will never forget! We did a 3D ultrasound! Roll call for the ultrasound: My Mother, Phyllis, My dad, Drew, My in-laws, Mr.Mike and Mrs.Pat, and my grandmother, Shirley.
We ultrasound was an amazing experience. Carrie was not very cooperative at first, she was hiding from us, being 'camera' shy, something neither one of her parents are!!! We got to see some amazing movement. She sucks her thumb, keeps her hands in her face, and feet are just a kickin'! Thankfully she has all ten fingers and toes! She has stolen all of our hearts already! It was truly a blessing seeing her all cozy in my belly! Here are some of the photo's we received from the ultrasound:
Little Feet- She was crossing her legs!

Sleepy Baby Carrie

Giving us the PEACE sign! My Favorite!

She Sucks Her Thumb!!

All Cozy!

Uh-Oh A Grumpy Face- She was getting cranky towards the end of the session, so amazing to actually see!

Picking her nose!?

We are so blessed to see our little girl! Hope you enjoy the pictures...

Have A Holly Jolly Chirstmas....

From the McCumsey's (Brian and Sydney)

First and foremost, I have neglected blogging and I do not like that at all. Apologies to all that love blogging; I hope to get better at it, one of my New Years Resolutions actually.
These past couple of weeks have been a whirlwind…
There was Thanksgiving….
Andrew Feeling Carrie Kick!
We celebrated Thanksgiving with my Day Family and my new McCumsey Family. It was a blessing and a great way to start the Holiday Celebrations.  By the way, my nephew, Andrew, still does not want a girl cousin! Ha!

The wedding was everything I had ever dreamed of and more. It was simple, sweet, and perfect for us. I enjoyed the wedding ceremony, the friends and family present, and the at home comfortable feel of the ceremony.  The reception was a night I will never forget! It was exactly what we wanted! We wanted our closest friends and family to join in on the celebration and fun! We danced the night away, I was so VERY sore that night and next day! I am so thankful that my friends and family enjoyed it as much as we did!
Growing up most girls dream of their big day… our big day, without a doubt, exceeded my dreams.  I can happily say that I have married the best man for me.  After the ceremony we snuck away and I will cherish that time forever, the smile on his face, and happiness in both our eyes is something I will never forget and luckily Heather Ray captured that moment and I can not wait to have that memory in a photograph. Heather was an awesome photographer to work with and I can not wait to share my pictures with everyone! ☺
Here is some sneak peaks from the wedding and reception:
One of my Favorites

Mr. and Mrs. Brian McCumsey

So Happy to have my AXO and LaTech Friends!

My Beautiful Mother!

After our amazing wedding, Gatlinburg, TN was our destination for our Honeymoon!

King of the Moutain Top- Rocky Mountain Top is what he SANG the ENTIRE TRIP!!

It was the perfect getaway, we relaxed and enjoyed our time together. There is so much to do up there! Next time will include family and friends. Wednesday, our initial day to come home, we woke up with it SNOWING! Not a lot but a little bit… enough me to hurry up and get off that mountain! Ha! Instead of going home Wednesday we went to Atlanta, GA instead… played in IKEA, which is AMAZING, and went to an NBA game. Nachos! ☺  All in all, I enjoyed the mountains and the honeymoon but I learned that I will always be a beach girl!!(We are already planning family vacation to Destin with our little girl!)

Returning home from the honeymoon, my life was sucked back into schoolwork, which was stressful! Thankfully it is OVER! I graduate tomorrow, yes TOMORROW Friday, December 17, 2010, SYDNEY RUE MCCUMSEY will have a Master’s Degree in Hospitality, Restaurant, and Tourism Management from the University of New Orleans.  I am so very proud of myself.  Getting my Masters flew by, but there were times, especially in the last few months when I wanted to put school on hold. I am so thankful for having such a wonderful support group, my momma, my dad, and Brian really pushed me! Brian was a trooper and revised TONS of papers! Now he is pushing me to find a J-O-B, the dreaded three letter word, and of course I knew the day would come that I would have to work, I just didn’t know I would 7 months pregnant!

Give Thanks...

I do not give thanks near enough. My life is so blessed by friends, family, and every day joy.
Thank you so much for the family and friends that I have supported Brian and I. We are so thankful for each and every one of you. This exciting time in our lives is making us realize how many people we must thank. First of all, each other... I am so thankful to have a loving, caring, amazing man in my life. Brian has truly been a blessing in my life and I am so excited about our future. Our little personal blessing, Carrie, makes me realize how important family is, and how fortunate we are to have friends and family supporting us. I am thankful for this experience of being pregnant, planning a wedding, starting new family traditions, and the many other exciting things happening in our life.

I feel truly blessed to be marrying into such a wonderful family!! yay for the McCumseys!

Thanks to all for the great food, friendship, and laughter today!! We are truly blessed!!

Brian's Gone for the WEEKEND....

That is right, my sweet fiance has left for the weekend to go to New Orleans for his bachelor party

I am somehow unfazed by this... most brides to be worry, I am just glad he is getting this excited party! *weird* I have ordered a pizza, watched lifetime, and I am now settling down for a night filled with schoolwork, and most likely some coffee flavored ice cream!

Baby News: The doctor called me "uncomplicated", I REALLLY REALLLY wished Brian would have been at this doctor's appt with me, nothing special happened, I just wish Brian could have heard the word "uncomplicated" in reference to me coming out of DOCTOR'S MOUTH!! :)
He said Baby Carrie is doing well, all things seem normal, and that the heart beat was 148! Our baby girl is just a growing! :)

Wedding News: LSU vs. ARKANSAS is set to play at 2:30... that means there is time for a WEDDING and a RECEPTION!! HOOORAYYY!! Can't wait to see this... I have got Arkansas family and LSU fan family... let's just keep in peaceful, ok? :)
With that announcement.... the countdown has begun, the wedding festivities are right around the corner! Brian asked today, "Are you nervous?" ... the answer is NO!! I am more excited than anything.

I have a few missions for the weekend, since I have the house to myself and lots of time on my hands, I will display these in list form...

My Weekend To Do List, that will continue into the week...
  • SCHOOL WORK (I really have til Tuesday to complete all my schoolwork necessary to graduate, this I am panicking about, but it will get done.. why? because it HAS to!!!)
  • RUN THROUGH OF CENTERPIECES (most of you know, this is a Do-it-Youself wedding and the centerpieces are included in that DIY theme)
  • PAINT NEW BEDFRAME (we got a new guest bed- in honor of the DIY theme that is currently taking over my life, my mother and I have taken yet another project- painting guest bed :) )
  • FINISH ALL LAST MINUTE WEDDING PREPARATIONS (DIY guestbook, question book, wrap presents, and begin decorating Charlie's Place!)
  • A WHOLE LOT MORE BUT I AM WASTING PRECIOUS TIME...
As this exciting time is nearing, I am overwhelmed, exhausted, easily aggitated, but over all I feel like I am KICKIN' BOOTY!!! I feel great, achieved, and proud of myself (and so very very thankful for all the help I have recieved!)

So, ending this Blog, dear family and friends, say a prayer for Brian's Bachelor Party, my schoolwork, my dear mother's sanity, and that this weekend is PRODUCTIVE! :)

I love you all,
I am so very thankful to have you all in my crazy, hectic, wonderful .... LIFE!

Bridals Pictures and Dinner Night Two

So last night I skipped cooking and we had leftovers! Hey- we got fed, that is what is important!
Tonight was good! I cooked, it was easy! :) yay!

Today I had the honor of being a girly girl and playing dress up! I got my nails painted, went and got my hair styled by Becca Dantin! She did an awesome job of making me ... look like... ME! :) yay! Then a high school buddy, Megan, who works at the salon Becca works at, offered to do my eye make up... it was very sweet and touching that she offered... this was something I was scared of... one, because I don't let people do my make up, two, I don't even wear a lot of make up, three, I am terrible at applying make up. All in all, I left Salon Avallon feeling like the prettiest bride to be THAT every walked the WORLD!!!

I met up with my photographer/friend Heather Ray and I really enjoyed spending time with her and getting all the photo's done!! I was nervous about this photo session, everytime I pay someone to take photos of me, I end up being all nervous, and looking awkard and hating them. I was very relaxed and natural with Heather! I am so glad for that!! This is a link to Heather Ray's website: http://www.heatherrayphotography.com/

Baby Carrie is going to look back and see her pregnant momma all gussied up for her Bridal Pictures and I could not be happier about that. :) I know we have done somethings slightly backwards but we are none to judge, and I am so proud of what we have both accomplished, gained, and have set a future for! :) I couldn't be any happier with our life!!
.... well..... maybe if we had baby room furniture ordered.. and the entire wedding plans complete... nope... I'd still be this happy! :)

Thanks to all that made this day special... even the guy who whistled at me on the street in Clinton while I was posing!! :)

Tomorrow will be an exhausting day of schoolwork, meeting with my professor, and attending class.
I am looking forward to the weekend...
A night with some of my favorite girls... my lingerie shower and bachelorette party...
then Saturday day with Brian's AMAZING family and friends...
and an evening with all the Days (new and old!)

feeling the love, and ready for bed.
:)

Cooking for Two... well really Three...

So after my wedding shower hosted by Mrs. Pat + Friends (awesome friends) and tons of gifts from friends and family... I was honestly OVER WHELMED at the amount of cooking products that I had registered for and recieved!! One reason being that I did not expect people to be so generous! :) Another reason being is that I have NO CLUE HOW TO COOK!!! I love my mother to pieces but cooking is not her speciality, not that she is bad at it, she just doesn't do it often. Thankfully, my grandmother, Shirley is good at it, and does it often.
One of my favorite quotes from my NeeNee, Shirley, is "Good cooks make messes!" I enjoyed this rule of thumb as I helped her roll out the biscuts for chicken and dumplins, or whatever ever she was making. I loved dough and I loved flour, I could make a MESS!

So with last weeks dilemma, I was very discouraged... I burnt dinner two nights in a row. and I was UPSET to say the least, I am pretty sure that was the horomones kickin' in.

This week, I have a new found plan! I am starting smallll.... like pre-made meals small... amd easy 15 minute recipes. I am determined to feed my future husband and baby!!!
So this weeks menu is exciting and easy... ya ready... Baslamic Chicken and Noodles, pre-stuffed pork chops with boudin and broc-n-cheese, and chicken paramsean.. so my spelling may be poor with my menu but HEY it is a MENU!!! yay!!

So this week will be trying, 1. because I have a TON of schoolwork to complete before Thursday, 2. I am attempting to cook three days in a row 3. Bridal Pics Wednesday! 4. basically I am so busy that I worn out thinking of how busy I am!

Speaking of busy and cooking... I better QUIT before I burn dinner #3!!

Ohhh and Baby Carrie is a MOVING machine!! I LOVE FEELING her move around!
Brian is working hard at his new job and seems to be enjoying it, minus the commute to and from BR, where his training is.
I am sooo excited about my lingerie shower and our couples honey do shower and my brother and new sister in laws wedding reception this weekend!! Busy week, Busy Weekend, GOOD TIMES ahead!!!

love to all.

Love is in the Air!

This morning I woke up to TWO of the sweetest things...
1. Brian sent me a text that said "One month from today we'll be waking up MARRIED!"
2. Carrie Addis was moving all around, letting me know it was time for breakfast!

I have turned a new leaf in life in these past two weeks. Feeling her move around is such an amazing experience. At first it was just flutters... could have been confused with gas :/ Now, you can not mistake the movement, she has even been on a pattern, although it is still somewhat sporatic, I am aware of her movements at breakfast time, afetr breakfast, and around 9 p.m.   I truly feel blessed to have the exeperience of feeling her move. Brian can feel her too... we lay in bed and watch TV and *gasp* everytime she moves! It has been a great bonding experience for us both, towards each other and to her, out little Carrie Addis McCumsey.

Other love... wedding planning is ALMOST done!! :) yay! We have got about a month til the "I Do's"! Things left on the agenda are fun stuff like centerpieces, designing the wedding cake, and showers! :)

We have a honey-do' shower for Brian's friends and family on November 13th- during the day... because that night we are celebrating my handsome brother's recent marriage to Brooke! Congrats Brooke and Andrew! :)
The night before (Nov 12th) is my bachelorette night of fun that my maid of honor Sara has been planning! I am so excited about this... a night with some of my favorite girls! :)

As for Brian's bachelor party... well.. let's just all say a prayer! Just Kidding! Brian is very excited about this... and he should be.. He is having a special guest attend.... Mr. Travis Horner!!! :) yay!

And lastly, I recentlt had my bridal shower hosted by Mrs. Pat and lots of her wonderful friends. I was so very nervous about this, and I have no idea why! It was a wonderful shower, the food was fantastic, and it was wonderful to see some many people supporting me and Brians engagement! ~Special thanks to all those that helped host, attended, or sent love! :) It is all much appreciated... now I must learn how to cook! :)

Love to all,
Happy Halloween Weekend,
Sydney (almost Mrs. McCumsey!)

All smiles in the McCumsey House!!

Hello All! :)

I am pleased to announce a few things!! One, Carrie Addis is MOVING alllll around in my belly and I can FEEL her just a fluttering!! :) We have an ultrasound and doc appointment this Wednesday! I can not wait to see her again!! Her daddy is excited too! He says he keeps having dreams when he sleeps that they first ultrasound was mistaken and she is actually a BOY!! :))

Other exciting news is that the wedding planning is coming full circle! I only have a few things left to accomplish!! D.J. service ... floral arrangements... and deciding on centerpieces.... They are going to be Do-It-Yourself and I am excited about this task! Somehow I have managed to do lots of things in a "do-it-yourself" kind of way... I also have done lots of things in an organic-recycled way, that was actually on accident but now I feel proud!! Even every part of the invitations are made out of recycled paper, you all should be getting those soon!

Me and Brian have some AWESOME 'engagement' photos, they were not done professionally but they sure look like they were!! Thanks to my lovely and talented mother, Phyllis!! :) If you ladies can make it to the Bridal Shower this Saturday I hope to have them printed so all can see how good lookin' we are!! HA! :)

Love to all,
We are sure enjoying this busy FALL!
Sydney (Almost McCumsey!)

The photos are not edited yet! We took them today!! I feel so blessed to have a happy, loving, and HANDSOME fiance! :)

We are having a baby.....

GIRL!!! With pig tails, pony tails, little pink cowboy boots, ribbons and bows, and flowers and things that smell oh-so nice!! We are thrilled to be having a LITTLE BABY GIRL!!!

We went to Angel Prints, in Baton Rouge, a place that does pre-natal imagining in 2D(regular ultrasound) and 3D(where you can see details). We went to determine the gender of Baby McCumsey and left with an AMAZING, life-changing experience!

We got to see OUR baby moving ALL around!! She had legs, arms, hands, feet, eyes, a nose!! She has everything!!! It was amazing to see her move around and watch her stretch or try to put her thumb in her mouth... which OPEN and CLOSED!! I was completely in shock that this Baby growing inside of me actually is A BABY!!!! She is beautiful already!!

The following photo is from the ultrasound. Some of the pictures are in 2D and some 3D. This was an awesome experience and we want to do it again!! (and would love for any of you to come with us, the place seats about 10 people and you can watch on a big screen!) If you would like to see the other photos let me know and I can email them, for some reason I could not add them to the Blog.

P.S.: Brian was thrilled for a girl! We left and he was soo giddy!! He said "I am going to be a father to a little baby girl!!" :)

Third Baby McCumsey Appointment

Me and Brian went to our third prenatal appointment yesterday, Wednesday, September 15! IT WAS AMAZING!! I am loving my doctor... although the wait to see him in unbearable!!

We were able to hear a heartbeat of 15o... and he/she was LOUD AND PROUD!! It was amazing to hear... I wish I could hear he/she all the time!! The nurse said Baby McCumsey was sitting a little lower than normal for my gestational age, he/she is sitting on my bladder... and YES! I can feel that! hah!

Our next appointment will consist of an ultrasound and a regular doctor's visit on October 20th. At this appointment we will find out the gender of Baby McCumsey. Brian and I are both so anxious about this... I am hoping I can talk him into going to one of the outside ultrasound places, like First Glimpse of Baton Rouge, so we can get a sneak peak at Baby McCumsey!! (If we do that we can go as early as Oct.

As for wedding news.. the unofficial wedding date is November 27th. (Due to there being NO WHERE available... this seems like the only weekend so it is the BEST weekend! :)
There are alot of loose ends to tie up in the next few days, we hope to have some solid details next week!
All you family and friends are free to give us advice... We will be looking for 'affordable' caterers, dj's, cake makers, and florists! Feel free to shoot me an email at srh018@gmail.com if you can recommend someone!

WE ARE ENGAGED!! :)

I can not believe the day has come where we are ENGAGED!! Although we haven't even been dating for long... we know we found love from the start... It is hard to find someone to put up with your "B.S." and I think we have done that!!

I couldn't be happier to share that we are engaged! Me and Brian have been talking about getting married months before Baby McCumsey came along... I am just glad we decided to get engaged and plan a wedding "our way" ...

A few of the unofficial decisions are that ...
1. We are embracing the Baby McCumsey Bump because we LOVE IT!
2. We are looking into a late November wedding or a December wedding... yes, of this YEAR! :)
3. We are so thankful for all the LOVE and SUPPORT we get from our friends and family! :) (that is an OFFICIAL DECISION!)

To Brian's Family:
Thank you all so much for being such a welcoming group.. I truly feel blessed to become part of this loving family! :)

To my Family:
Thank you for supporting me and Brian!! I am so very happy to share my joy and excitement of our engagement and our baby. I miss a certain member of my family, but I certainly feel his presence everytime I look at wedding things... his eye for nice things is within me! :)

So there will be more to come... Blog Name Changes.... a combo of Baby McCumsey Planning and Wedding Planning and Family Planning!

Love you all... Next doctor appointment for Baby McCumsey is Sept. 15!

2nd Appointment Update

Hi All!!

Everything is going just PEACHY in this growing family! Brian and I went to our 2nd doctor's appointment on Wednesday August 18. The appointment was simple, doctor asked if we had any questions and blah, blah... AND WE GOT TO HEAR THE HEART BEAT!! We had already heard it once at the ultrasound, but to hear it again was amazing!!
It made me want to have an ultrasound once a week!! We both are dreaming of future ultrasounds!
Our next scheduled appointment is September 15. About two or three weeks after that appointment we should have an ultrasound to determine the gender. I am betting on a girl. I crave sweets constantly, and the occasional dill pickle chip! :)

Hope this post finds you all well!

Love,
Sydney and Brian

First UltraSound!

This is the photo's from our first ultrasound! It was an awesome experience!

In this ultrasound they determined that I am 9 weeks along and the due date is set to be March 6, 2011. Yay for a winter pregnancy!

Hope you enjoy the updates!! Feel free to comment with your email address so I can email you when I have updated the Blog!

Love Y'all!
Sydney (and Brian proofread!) :)

Lots Happening at the McCumsey Household

As many of you already know we have had lots going on at the McCumsey household. My biggest fear was telling our parents and my awesome set of Grand Parents.. luckily we both made it through alive and have the loving support from both families ... all this love and support makes me emotional... actually ANYTHING makes me emotional! Ha!

All the moving and shaking with our good news has been hectic!! I have to admit I have not enjoyed every morning of nausea and every tired/exhausted moment... but Brian has been a tremendous help! He has ceased passing gas as often, has been doing household chores, and even some cooking... He has made us stable throughout my last few weeks of hormonal adjustment!

Our first doctor's appointment went very well!! I enjoyed meeting Dr. Edward Schwartzenberg, he is going to be a wonderful doctor for me. He is a calm individual, which will hopefully in turn make me calm! Brian went with me, I thoroughly enjoyed his company at the doctors office and I think he enjoyed the process too. I hope that he can make it to all of them, I know they will be a learning experience for both of us!

Now to work my way through this 1st trimester to the glowing 2nd trimester!!

Our Blessing!

Brian and I could not be more excited about this bundle of joy that has entered our lives!! We truly feel blessed!
This blog is my first blogging experience, and I figure no better time than the present to get started! We hope you enjoy "following" our blog and receiving the updates about our blessed life!! We are so happy to share this with our friends and family!

So have fun with this... leave us fun comments, comments of support, and play around... I will be creating polls about baby names, baby weight, baby gender, and other fun things! Our hope is to have all of our friends and family joined in our parenthood journey!!

Love Y'all,
Sydney and Brian
*the start of a new family! :)
